EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Schlanger Law Group LLP is not your typical law firm. We are a dynamic and growing consumer protection practice dedicated to fighting for individuals who have been wronged by inaccurate credit reporting, identity theft, and other deceptive business practices. From individual advocacy to groundbreaking class actions, our work makes a tangible impact in the lives of our clients—and we want you to be a part of it.  The following positions are now open:

Remote Litigation Paralegal

Full-Time | Fully Remote (U.S.-Based) | $70,000 – $80,000

Help Real People Fight Back Against Banks and Credit Bureaus.  Skip The Commute

Schlanger Law Group LLP is a widely recognized consumer protection law firm. We represent people harmed by inaccurate credit reporting, identity theft, and other unfair and deceptive business practices, in both individual and class action litigation against banks, credit reporting agencies, and other financial institutions. We litigate in federal courts and arbitration forums in New York, New Jersey, and around the country.

We’re looking for a sharp, motivated Litigation Paralegal who knows how to move cases forward. This is a role with real ownership — you’ll be the day-to-day point of contact for clients, work directly with attorneys on active federal cases, manage discovery, draft documents, and drive cases from active litigation through resolution. If you’re the kind of person who keeps cases moving and clients informed, and you want to do meaningful work from home, we want to hear from you.

Why Schlanger Law Group?

  • Mission-Driven Work: Everything we do protects real people from misconduct by financial institutions and credit reporting agencies.
  • Real Litigation Experience: You’ll work closely with attorneys on individual federal cases and see the direct impact of your work on clients’ lives.
  • Modern Tech Stack: We use Salesforce, NetDocs, and AI tools extensively. The technology available to law firms is changing fast, and we’re building a firm takes advantage of recent advances.
  • Fully Remote: Work from anywhere in the U.S. (But if you want to work from our office in Rochester, that is fine, too!)

The Work

You’ll be a critical part of our litigation team, supporting attorneys across all phases of consumer protection litigation in federal court. We need someone who takes ownership of their cases — someone the clients trust, the attorneys rely on.

Client Communication & Case Ownership

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for clients, keeping them informed about case status, next steps, and what to expect.
  • Communicate with clients who are often dealing with stressful financial situations — with professionalism, empathy, and clarity.
  • Gather documents and information from clients as cases develop.
  • Proactively identify what needs to happen next in each case and make sure it gets done — including managing up when necessary.

Case Management & Litigation Support

  • Manage case files and maintain organized, up-to-date case records in the firm’s CRM (Salesforce) and document management system (NetDocs).
  • Track deadlines, court dates, and statutes of limitations.
  • Coordinate with co-counsel, courts, and third parties as needed.

Discovery & Document Management

  • Draft and respond to discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission.
  • Organize, review, and index documents produced in discovery.
  • Prepare deposition materials, including deposition outlines, exhibits, etc.
  • Assist with e-discovery processes and document review.

Legal Research & Drafting

  • Draft correspondence, affidavits, declarations, and litigation documents under attorney supervision.
  • Conduct factual research and compile information to support case development and motion practice.
  • Prepare and file documents in federal courts, including via CM/ECF.

Settlement & Case Resolution

  • Assist with settlement administration, including calculating damages and preparing settlement documentation.
  • Communicate with clients regarding settlement offers, next steps, and case resolution.

What We Require

  • 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably in a plaintiff-side practice or consumer protection setting.
  • Demonstrated experience as the person who drives cases forward — not just executing tasks, but owning the progress of your caseload.
  • Strong client-facing communication skills. You should be comfortable being the primary point of contact for clients and managing those relationships with professionalism, emphathy and care.
  • Experience working directly with attorneys and the ability to manage up — flagging deadlines, surfacing issues, and keeping cases moving even when attorneys are pulled in multiple directions.
  • Experience with federal court practice, including familiarity with the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and e-filing through CM/ECF.
  • Strong document management skills and experience working with discovery in active litigation.
  • Technology fluency. We are a fully remote, distributed firm with a modern tech stack, including Salesforce, NetDocs, Adobe Acrobat, and AI tools. We need someone who is already comfortable working at an advanced level with the technology that drives a modern litigation practice — from producing professional legal documents in Word (document comparisons, tables of contents, section breaks, footnotes, etc.) and Adobe (Bates stamping, OCR, redaction, signatures, etc.), to managing cases in a CRM, to using AI tools productively in day-to-day work. The ideal candidate will be someone who already works this way.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
  • A track record of working successfully in a fully remote environment.
  • Must be based in the United States.

Strongly Preferred

  • Experience with federal civil litigation, arbitration, and/or consumer protection statutes, particularly the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Electronic Fund Transfer Act (EFTA), or Fair Credit Billing Act (FCBA).
  • Experience with Salesforce or comparable CRM platforms.
  • Familiarity with NetDocs or comparable document management systems.
  • Experience with PACER and Westlaw or comparable legal research platforms.

Who You Are

You’re the person your attorneys count on to keep things moving. You don’t wait to be told what to do next — you see what needs to happen and you do it. You’re organized, detail-oriented, and reliable. You communicate clearly with clients and you’re not afraid to manage up when something needs attorney attention. You’re fluent in the tools of modern legal practice and always looking for better ways to get things done.

You understand that behind every case file is a real person who’s been harmed, and you take that seriously. You want to be part of a small team doing meaningful work, and you want to do it from home.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $70,000 – $80,000 annually, commensurate with experience
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Paid time off
  • Fully remote work arrangement

Full-Time | Fully Remote (U.S.-Based) | $125,000 – $180,000

Litigate Cases That Matter. Spend Your Time Actually Lawyering.

Schlanger Law Group LLP is a widely recognized consumer protection law firm. We represent people harmed by inaccurate credit reporting, identity theft, and other unfair and deceptive business practices, in both individual and class action litigation against banks, credit reporting agencies, and other financial institutions. We litigate in federal courts and arbitration forums in New York, New Jersey, and around the country, and we maintain strong co-counsel relationships with other leading consumer protection firms nationally.

We’re looking for an experienced litigation attorney to join our team. This is a role for a litigator, i.e. someone who regularly takes and defends depositions, writes and argues motions, manages discovery, and tries cases.

If you love the craft of litigation and want to do that work for people who genuinely need it — we want to talk to you.

Why Schlanger Law Group?

Meaningful Plaintiff-Side Work: This is consumer protection litigation on behalf of real victims, many of whom have lost their life savings to identity theft. We bring individual and class actions that hold powerful companies accountable.

Just Litigate: We want our attorneys focused on the legal work. We will not expect you to bring in clients or be an administrator.

Established: We’re widely known in the consumer protection community with deep relationships with other leading firms. Our cases have established multiple important precedents in the field of consumer protection.

Fully Remote with Real Autonomy: Work from anywhere in the U.S.  (If you want to work from our office in Rochester, that is fine, too!) You’ll have significant independence in managing your caseload, with the support of dedicated paralegals, and a firm that handles the business side so you don’t have to.

Must Be Able To Travel For Court Appearances: You will need to be able to appear at in-person hearings and argument from time to time.

Compensation That Reflects Results: Competitive base salary plus outcome-based compensation. Good results for clients mean good results for you.

The Work

You’ll handle a caseload of individual and class action consumer protection matters from inception through resolution. The work includes:

• Drafting complaints, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents in federal court and arbitration.

• Conducting and managing fact and expert discovery, including written discovery, document review, depositions, etc.

• Arguing motions and appearing in court.

• Developing legal strategy and case theories in collaboration with firm leadership and co-counsel.

• Supervising paralegals assigned to your cases.

• Mentoring law student and law graduate fellows as the opportunity arises.

• Conducting legal research on consumer protection statutes, regulations, and developing case law.

What We Require

• 7+ years of hands-on civil litigation experience.

• Substantial federal court experience.

• Outstanding persuasive legal writing skills.

• Demonstrated ability to advocate effectively in court.

• Admission to the bar of at least one U.S. jurisdiction, with eligibility for reciprocal or lateral admission in additional states as needed.

• The ability to manage a caseload independently while working as part of a small, collaborative team.

• Must be based in the United States.

Strongly Preferred

• Experience in consumer protection litigation, including claims under the FCRA, EFTA, FCBA, or state UDAP statutes.

• Class action litigation experience, including certification motions, class discovery, and settlement administration.

• Arbitration experience.

• Plaintiff-side litigation background (consumer protection, employment, personal injury, civil rights, or similar).

Who You Are

You’re a litigator. You’re a bit of a law nerd. You want your skills to be in service of something that matters.

You work well independently but are a great colleague. You’re looking for a firm where you can focus on doing excellent legal work without the distraction of running a practice.

Compensation & Benefits

• $125,000 – $180,000.

• Medical, dental, and vision insurance

• 401(k)

• Paid time off

• Fully remote work arrangement
